Microsoft fixt beim April-Patchday kritische Sicherheitlücken

win7 Pünktlich zum 9. April 2014 hat Microsoft die Patches zum April-Patchday für Windows, Office und den Internet Explorer ausgeliefert. Wie hier von mir bereits berichtet, wurden insgesamt sind 9 Security-Updates für Windows, Internet Explorer, Office und weitere MS-Produkte ausgerollt. Zwei Patches werden gemäß Microsoft als kritisch und sieben als hoch eingestuft.

Wie ZDnet.com hier berichtet, rollt Microsoft am Patchday auch Firmware-Updates für das Surface RT und Surface Pro mit aus. Die Updates sollten folgende Probleme beseitigen:

  • Certain "Limited" connectivity issues resolved
  • Improves Wi-Fi to handle a wide range of access points
  • Resolves system crashes caused by certain Wi-Fi issues

Irgendwie habe ich den Eindruck, diesen Text schon beim letzten Patchday und beim Patchday davor gelesen zu haben. Beim Surface Pro werden noch folgende Fehler durch das Firmware-Update adressiert.

  • Resolves an issue with on screen touch navigation in the UEFI boot menu
  • Resolves some Surface Type and Touch cover connectivity issues
  • Support for 106/109 keyboards on North American Surface devices
  • Resolves an issue where toggling airplane mode would disable the Wi-Fi driver
