win7Heute ist es mal wieder so weit. Wie hier angekündigt, rollt Microsoft acht Security-Updates aus, die Sicherheitslücken in verschiedenen Produkten schließen. Zudem gibt es für die Microsoft Tablet PCs Surface RT und Surface Pro einige Firmware-Updates.

Sicherheitspatches im August 2013

Revisionen der Juli 2013 Patches

In einem weiteren Bulletin weist Microsoft darauf hin, dass die folgenden Juli-Patches einer größeren Revision unterzogen wurden.

Firmware- und Treiberupdate für Surface RT und Pro

Für die Microsoft Tablet PCs der Surface-Reihe gibt es ebenfalls einige Patches und Firmware-Updates. Darauf weist Mary Foley in diesem ZDNet-Artikel hin. Die August-Updates beziehen sich auf Surface RT-Geräte mit Windows RT (nicht Windows RT 8.1 Preview) und beinhalten folgendes:

  • Ein Update für das Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), welches die Audioausgabe bei niedriger Lautstärke verbessern soll. Die bei niedriger Lautstärke bei bestimmten Audioausgaben wahrnehmbaren Geräusche sollen weg sein.
  • Ein weiteres Update verschiedener Systemtreiber soll die Stabilität und die Zuverlässigkeit des Systems verbessern.

Auch für das Suface Pro mit Windows 8.0 (nicht Windows 8.1 Preview) gibt es ein Firmware-Update.

  • Ein UEFI- und System Aggregator (SAM) Firmware-Update soll die Systemstabilität und Zuverlässigkeit verbessern, sowie den Stromverbrauch reduzieren.
  • Zudem adressiert ein Firmware-Update die von mir hier berichteten Verzögerungen und Probleme (wie Springen des Mauszeigers) bei der Erkennung der Touchpads auf dem Surface Type Cover und Surface Touch Cover.

Speziell das letztgenannte Firmware-Update dürfte die Benutzer des Surface Pro freuen, da die Probleme teilweise erheblich stören.

Besitzer von Tablet PCs anderer Hersteller mit Windows RT sollten ebenfalls Firmware-Updates über die OEM-Hersteller erhalten. Darauf weist Foley in ihrem Beitrag hin.

Vier Updates für Windows 8.1 Preview

Zusätzlich hat Microsoft am heutigen Patchday vier Updates für die Windows 8.1 Preview ausgeliefert. Darauf weist die Site Pureinfotech.com in diesem Artikel hin. Hier eine Übersicht, was aktualisiert wird.

  • Kumulatives Sicherheitsupdate für den Internet Explorer 11 (KB2862772)
  • Ein Update für den Flash Player in der Windows 8.1 Preview (KB2871676). Das Update behebt ein Problem, dass Flash-Videos bei der Wiedergabe flackern können.
  • Ein Update für Windows 8.1 Preview (KB2875111), welches Probleme beim adaptiven Streaming und dem Digital Rights Management (DRM) bei der Wiedergabe im Internet Explorer 11 beheben soll.
  • Ein Update (KB2875636), welches Probleme beim adaptiven Streaming und dem Digital Rights Management (DRM) bei der Wiedergabe durch das Betriebssystem beheben soll.

Bei den ARM-basierenden Surface RT-Geräten ist das automatische Update immer aktiviert, so dass ihr euch nicht um die Aktualisierung zu kümmern braucht. Bei den Surface Pro-Tablets mit Windows 8 Pro wird das automatische Update zwar beim Einrichten aktiviert. Hier kann der Benutzer auf die Einstellungen auf manuelle Updates ändern. Gegebenenfalls also mal nachschauen, auf welchem Modus die Updates stehen.

    hallo,
    hab update durchgeführt und musste nach pc-neustart feststellen das sich die desktop-anzeige sowie die dastellung sämtlicher fenster (farbe) geändert hat.
    die möglichkeiten zur änderung sind auch unterirdisch.das design sieht aus wie aus den 60er jahren.was soll das ???
    entweder hab ich den dreh noch nicht gefunden dass alles wieder so aussieht wie vorher oder es ist gar nicht möglich,was ich aber nicht denke.
    vielleicht bekomme ich hier hilfe.sag schon mal danke für ne antwort.
