[English]Zum 15. Oktober 2019 hat Microsoft Preview Rollup Updates für Windows 7 sowie Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 freigegeben. Gleichzeitig wurde ein Preview Rollup Update für Windows 8.1 sowie Windows Server 2012/ R2 veröffentlicht.

Preview Rollup Updates sind optional, quasi zum Testen, deren Inhalt wird zum nachfolgenden regulären Patchday dann allgemein freigegeben.
Updates für Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2
Für Windows 7 SP1 und Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 wurde ein Preview Rollup Update freigegeben. Die Update-Historie für Windows 7 ist auf dieser Microsoft-Seite zu finden.
KB4519972 (Preview Monthly Rollup) Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2
Update KB4519972 (Preview Rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) enthält Verbesserungen und Bug-Fixes, die im Folgemonat ausgerollt werden sollen. Im KB-Artikel werden folgende Änderungen aufgeführt.
- Updates time zone information for Norfolk Island, Australia.
- Updates time zone information for the Fiji Islands.
- Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows. For more information, see KB4525208 (existiert nicht).

Der Passus 'Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem' ist für mich nicht greifbar, der verlinkte KB-Beitrag existiert nicht. Microsoft gibt an, dass keine Probleme bekannt seien. an, dass VBScript nicht wie geplant, im Internet Explorer 11 standardmäßig deaktiviert werden könnte. Das Update wird per Windows Update und WSUS bereitgestellt und ist im Microsoft Update Catalog zum Download erhältlich. Microsoft empfiehlt vor einer Installation dringend, das neueste Servicing Stack Update (SSU) zu installieren. Zudem sind die SHA-2-Updates erforderlich – Details finden sich im KB-Artikel. Da es aber ein Preview-Update ist, würde ich es ausblenden.

Update KB4520012 steht für Windows 8.1 und Windows Server 2012 R2 als Preview of Monthly Rollup bereit. Es handelt sich um kein Sicherheitsupdate. Das Preview Rollup adressiert folgende Probleme:
- Updates time zone information for Norfolk Island, Australia.
- Updates time zone information for the Fiji Islands.
- Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows. For more information, see KB4525208.

- Addresses an issue with a race condition between the volume mount process (within fileinfo.sys) and the deregistration of filter notifications that causes the operating system to stop working on certain virtual machines. The error code is "0x7E."
- Addresses an issue in security bulletin CVE-2019-1318 that may cause client or server computers that don't support Extended Master Secret (EMS) RFC 7627 to have increased connection latency and CPU utilization. This issue occurs while performing full Transport Layer Security (TLS) handshakes from devices that don't support EMS, especially on servers. EMS support has been available for all the supported versions of Windows since calendar year 2015 and is being incrementally enforced by the installation of the October 8, 2019 and later monthly updates.

Microsoft empfiehlt vor einer Installation dringend, das neueste Servicing Stack Update (SSU) zu installieren. Da es aber ein Preview-Update ist, würde ich es ausblenden. Microsoft gibt im Artikel KB4520012 nur ein bekanntes Problem an – bestimmte Dateioperationen scheitern auf Cluster Shared Volume (CSV).
