Dies führte dazu, dass Nutzer Probleme beim Zugriff auf Funktionen von Microsoft Teams und Exchange Online hatten. Da die Störung in den späten Abendstunden erfolgte, dürften Nutzer in Europa weniger betroffen gewesen sein. Nach knapp zwei Stunden ist es Microsoft gelungen, die Ursache dieser Störung zu beseitigen.

Ich bin gestern Abend (8. Oktober 2025) über nachfolgenden Tweet des von Microsoft betriebenen Kanals @MSFT365Status auf den ersten Hinweis gestoßen.

Microsoft 365 issue

Muss in Europa gegen ca. 17:00 Uhr gewesen sein. Gut zwei Stunden später gab es dann Entwarnung. Die Störung, die den Zugriff auf die Systeme verhinderte, war durch Umkonfigurierung behoben. Microsoft hat das Ganze in der Meldung MO1168102 dokumentiert – die Kollegen von Bleeping Computer haben hier noch was dazu geschrieben.

More info: Some users attempting to access other Microsoft 365 services, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online, may have been unable to authenticate and access the services. Additionally, users might not have received Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) messages when attempting to sign in. Affected users may have encountered an error stating, "We are sorry, something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please visit status.cloud.microsoft for updates regarding known issues."

Final status: Our analysis identified a portion of directory operations infrastructure which became imbalanced during a period of high traffic volume and caused authorization failures associated with impact. We've successfully rebalanced traffic across the affected infrastructure and confirmed after a period of monitoring that the impact is no longer occurring.

Scope of impact: A portion of users attempting to access the Microsoft 365 services outlined in the 'User impact' and 'More info' sections of this communication may have been impacted.

Preliminary root cause: A portion of directory operations infrastructure became imbalanced during a period of high traffic volume, which caused failures associated with impact.

    Bei uns grade wieder massive Störungen bei allen Cloud Diensten von MS

    Dasselbe hier. Die Admin Center sind aufgrund eines Zertifikatsfehlers nicht aufrufbar.

    Same here:
    – Admin Center ewig langsam
    – Lizenz Zubuchung über CSP Partner nicht möglich
    – ein paar Kunden haben im Outlook Zertifkatswarnungen (irgendwie mit einer azure domain) erhalten.

    Es gibt jetzt unter der ID MO1168102 (eine öffentliche URL habe ich nicht gefunden) einen – wie Microsoft es nennt – Vorfallnachsorgebericht, also Post-Incident Report.

    Root Cause
    One Entra ID fault domain was impacted by a latent code bug. Certain request types took longer to process due to the bug, resulting in timeouts, request failures, and amplification. The amplified traffic from retries further contributed to the outage.
